Biography
Manzoor Hussain was born on January 3rd, 1953 at Dhaka. He passed the SSC (1969) and HSC (1972) from Govt. Laboratory School, Dhaka and Dhaka College respectively in first division with distinctions and star marks. After graduating from Dhaka Medical College (MBBS in 1978), he obtained DTM&H from Bangkok School of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene in 1981, DCH from Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Glasgow, UK in 1984 and MRCP in Pediatrics from Royal College of Physicians of United Kingdom in February, 1986. Manzoor Hussain became a Fellow of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine. UK in 1991. He obtained Fellowships from all three Royal Colleges of United Kingdom: FRCP (Edinburgh) in 1994, FRCP (Glasgow) in 1998 and FRCP (London) in 1998. He also became a member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) of UK in 2008. He has been awarded Honorary Fellowship (FCPS) by the Bangladesh College of Physicians & Surgeons in February in 2012 and Fellowship (FRCPCH) by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (UK) in April, 2012. His name has been included in the Who’s Who in Asia and the Pacific Nations and International Directory of Distinguished Leadership for his outstanding contributions in contemporary medicine published by the international Biographical Centre, Cambridge, UK in 1999 (4th Edition) and American Biographical Institute in 2009 (9th Edition) respectively. His name has been inducted as Top 10 Health Professionals 2007 in the arena of Paediatric Cardiology & Rheumatology by the International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England on 21st January, 2008. His name has also been included as Asian Admirable Achievers; Vol. 1, Page 199. Rifacimento International, New Delhi. He has been awarded Atish Diponkar Gold Medal in 2009, Helen Keller Gold Medal in 2009 and “Mirror Health Award†in 2009.
