Biography
Dr. Jorge Kalil completed his Doctorate, University of Paris, 1982. Later, he worked as a Professor of Clinical Medicine School of USP Sao Paulo. Currently he is the head of Clinical Immunology and Allergy, Dept of Clinical Medicine, FMUSP & he is the Director, Laboratory of Immunology Heart Institute, Clinics Hospital, Brazil
Research Area
His research employs Immunology, Allergy and Clinical Medicine to solve real world problems. His studies focused on monoclonal antibodies. They were mainly the typing of histocompatibility antigens but also Hepatitis and Malaria infectious antigens and a study of rheumatoid arthritis and transplantation. He also published 27 articles on Immunogenetics in prestigious international journals such as Immunogenetics, Transplantation Proceedings and Tissue Antigens. Through the study of immunogenetic components, Jorge Kalil was interested in many developments, and in particular renal and cardiac transplantation applications, but also in the control of immune reactions and their applications in vaccination practice.
